Comprehensive Spring Sports Coverage on The Mtn.

The Mtn. will telecast at least 41 baseball and softball games in 2010, including live coverage of every inning of the Conoco Mountain West Conference Baseball Championship in San Diego, Calif.

Baseball

The Mtn. will air 22 MWC regular season baseball games and 10 live tournament games, with the potential of an 11th  should an additional championship game be required on Saturday, May 29.  The 2010 Conoco Mountain West Conference Baseball Championship will be held at Tony Gwynn Stadium on the campus of San Diego State.  Six MWC teams participate in a double-elimination format, with seeding determined by regular season results from intra-conference games.

The TCU Film/Television/Digital Media Department will produce 13 games.  TCU Film/Television/Digital Media Department students will be responsible for all facets of the game production while The Mtn. provides the broadcast platform.  This arrangement has been used with great success during the 2009 volleyball and 2009-10 MWC basketball season, with three volleyball matches and six women’s and one men’s basketball game already airing this academic year.

Eight regular season games will be presented live, with the remainder airing same-day tape delay (SDD) and next day tape delay (NDD).  As previously mentioned, all Conference tournament games will be televised live.

The Mountain View – Diamond Edition

The Mountain View – Diamond Edition brings viewers scores and highlights of all the baseball and softball action from across the Conference every Thursday at 7 p.m. MT during the baseball and softball season beginning in March.

Live pre and post game shows from The Mtn. studios will be part of all MTN-produced baseball and softball telecasts, including the full slate of 2010 Conoco Mountain West Conference Baseball Championship games.  Select TCU-produced programming will incorporate a pre-game studio show produced by The Mtn.: March 23 & 30 and April 6, 13 and 27.

Reaching the Peak: Destination Omaha

The Mtn. introduces a new season of its successful original program, Reaching the Peak.

New episodes begin May 6 at 7:30 p.m. MT and will feature the TCU baseball program in Reaching the Peak: Destination Omaha.   Reaching the Peak provides viewers with an in-depth, behind-the-scenes look into athletic programs across the Mountain West Conference as the show delves deep into the lives of the student-athletes.  Unique show elements contained within each episode and additional web-only clips available at www.themtn.tv are part of each program.

The current season of Reaching the Peak follows the Colorado State men’s basketball team from the beginning of camp up to and possibly beyond the 2010 Conoco Mountain West Conference Basketball Championships.

Reaching the Peak: Destination Omaha is scheduled for five telecasts, which will follow The Mountain View – Diamond Edition on Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. MT: May 6, May 13, May 20, June 3 and June 10.

For more information, visit http://www.themtn.tv/pages/reaching_the_peak.
